March Morning Worship Overview
The Coronavirus pandemic continues, which means that Pilgrim will continue to take appropriate precautions as we hold in-person worship services.
The basic pattern for Sunday mornings:
Worship at 9:30 a.m. with live streaming on Facebook Live
Community Time immediately follows worship.
Forums & Other Faith Formation* at 10:40 a.m. (forums live streamed on Facebook Live)
(*See the March newsletter for updated info on faith formation for children, youth, and families.)
Worship each Sunday morning includes “Point for Pilgrims” — an opportunity for children and their families to experience the Bible story in an engaging way.
Sunday Morning Forums follow worship most Sunday mornings at 10:40. Forum topics are included in the information for each Sunday.
Health guidelines:
For all worship services, we ask worshipers to wear masks out of abundant concern for unvaccinated children and vulnerable adults.
All worship services will include singing (with masks on). Pastors and other worship leaders may remove masks when playing, singing, or speaking from the chancel.
You can expect that these patterns and guidelines will change as we move forward based on the advice of government health officials and of Pilgrim’s SMART Team.
Important Information on Holy Communion
For the time being we will practice Holy Communion in a socially distanced manner. This means:
v For the distribution of Holy Communion, ushers release the worshiping assembly row by row. Communicants come forward to receive a communion kit at one of two stations and return to their seat to receive the sacrament. Gluten-free wafers are always available.
v Worshipers who do not wish to come forward during the distribution of Holy Communion may request a communion kit before worship begins or may bring their own elements.
All are welcome to receive Holy Communion.
Using Facebook Live for Pilgrim Worship Broadcasts
If you prefer to worship online, tune in to Pilgrim’s indoor worship services on Facebook Live. Using Facebook Live for broadcasting is convenient and reliable.
You do not have to join Facebook to access Pilgrim worship services. Pilgrim’s Facebook page can be reached at: https://www.facebook.com/PilgrimStPaul/. Navigate to the church’s Facebook page at the time of the worship service and click on the video link.
Lent 2022
Lent is later this year, but finally arrives with Ash Wednesday on March 2.
Worship time change: Please note that Ash Wednesday worship will take place at 6:30 pm on March 2, but that the following five Wednesday evening services will take place at 6:00 pm.
Each Wednesday worship service will include Holden Evening Prayer and reflections on favorite scripture passages provided by members of the Pilgrim community.
Be sure to direct your attention to the March newsletter for a preview of the Holy Week schedule in April!
