In this challenging time in our complicated world, hope may be our greatest need, its viability our greatest question. So many forces threaten to shuttle hope to the sidelines. Yet hope is resilient. In this conversation we consider hope's nature; how it is different than optimism, related to faith and the imagination, and often birthed in community. Julie Neraas is a spiritual director, ordained Presbyterian clergywoman, and former professor at Hamline University.
