Email Scams Continue

Staff has started to receive word, yet again, of scam emails going to various Pilgrims — this time from a variety of fictitious email account posing as Pastor Jen — pastorjenrome.pilgrimstpaul@gmail.com, pastorjenrome133@gmail.com, etc.

This scam may include emails from other Pilgrim staff. The email usually asks you to help Jen by buying gift cards for others.

THESE REQUESTS ARE FAKE. If you aren’t sure whether it’s real, please reach out to Jen and ask her — or reach out to whomever the sender purports to be. If you receive this at a Gmail account, you can pass it on to Gmail using the “report phishing” tool. (It’s found under the list of choices that begin with "reply" and "forward" — look for three dots stacked on top of each other at the top right of the message.)

There are probably similar reporting avenues with other email providers. Thanks for being careful about these emails.
