Peace and Justice Groups

Racial Justice Task Force
This group, formed in the spring of 2018, seeks to Identify racial justice opportunities (Shared Ministry) within Pilgrim life — e.g. worship, music, education of all ages; identify racial justice opportunities in the community beyond Pilgrim; and identify resources, partnerships and relationships that will support racial justice efforts. Read our latest summary, and check out these resources.
Missions and Social Justice Committee

The Mission and Social Justice Committee is a group of Pilgrim members that guides and coordinates many of our justice and service opportunities in collaboration with our congregational council. The committee also supports decision making about financial giving to justice and service organizations outside of Pilgrim.

Pilgrims for Just Peace

The Pilgrims for Just Peace group leads the Pilgrim community in exploring and living out our calling as peacemakers in our relationships, our communities, and our world.  The group sponsors educational forums, monthly peace meditation services, co-sponsors special events, and serves as a resource to Pilgrim members, committees, and organizations on peace and justice issues.

Pilgrims Caring for Creation

The Pilgrims Caring for Creation group leads the Pilgrim community in expressing its commitment to be stewards of God's whole creation. We express this commitment, in part, by being a "Caring for Creation" Congregation, as designiated by Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light. This commitment begins in our own church building and in our own backyards, and extends around the globe. Pilgrims Caring for Creation has led efforts to reduce material and energy waste on our church campus. They have also sponsored education and public events on issues of environmental justice.

Pilgrims Caring for Creation led an effort in the Pilgrim community to divest the Pilgrim Endowment Fund out of companies with significant fossil fuel holdings. You can read our commitment statement here.
