Pilgrim Practices Shared Ministry
We affirm that each member of this community is a minister both within and beyond the walls of the church, which we affirm in baptism. We partner with one another and with the wider ELCA to walk together in this journey of faith. We agree to share the decision-making responsibilities of being a church, as well as the joy of serving in mission, side-by-side. We welcome all to become involved through the use of their abilities, time, and resources. Every program, group, or emphasis within our congregation is sustained by the involvement of the ministers of the Pilgrim community.
Choral Scholarships (Part-time, paid)
The Choral Scholar Position, like our Johnson Leadership and Creativity Fellowships, offers a chance for young adults (in their 20s and 30s) to identify and share their unique gifts and strengths, practice critical job skills, and discern their vocation. Majors or minors in music are not required, but can provide an advantage. Any who would find a valuable experience through improving and sharing their singing, church musicianship, and/or music leadership skills are welcome to apply. For further information, please see the Music in Worship page, or contact Pilgrim Music Director, Paul Stever, at SteverPaul55@aol.com.
Johnson Leadership & Creativity Fellowships (Part-time, paid)
Leadership & Creativity Fellowships are meaningful four-month (renewable), stipended experiences for young adults that support vocational discernment, strengths- and job-skills development through project leadership. Fellowship projects also strengthen Pilgrim’s commitment to its mission, core values, and ministries. Fellowships are flexible, in terms of the number of hours needed to fulfill the role, and are intended to be compatible with concurrent work/study. Pilgrim Leadership and Creativity Fellowships are made possible by the gifts of Mardell Johnson, in memory of her daughter Karen Johnson, the gifts of other generous Pilgrims, and by a Thrivent Foundation Lutheran Challenge Grant. Please click here for a one-page description of the opportunity. For further information, please contact Pastor Jen Rome, Pastor of Next Generation Ministries, at email@example.com.
