Birth to Age 3
Noah’s Ark Nursery
Pilgrim offers a safe, well-equipped nursery, staffed by paid attendants during most hours of congregation-wide programming: on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings during the school year, and at other times by arrangement. The nursery is for children birth to age five.
Lambs class is an opportunity for parents/caregivers of young children to grow with their children and connect with other parents/caregivers. Lambs meets in the nursery and includes story, song, and play with your child as well as a welcoming and supportive space for parents to connect, share and grow as people of faith and as parents. Lambs is held in the Nursery downstairs at 9:45am on select Sundays. (Age 0-3 and parents/caregivers)
Grade Six to Grade Twelve
On Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45 am, Middle and High School Pathways youth meet downstairs in the Youth Room to grow together in faith and connection through learning about the Old Testament, Faith and Life, and Faith Practices. We also gather for a Fall Overnight at church, a Winter Do Justice Retreat, and a Summer Cabin Getaway Retreat.
Mission Trips and Outdoor Ministry
In recent years, Pilgrim has coordinated a camp experience through Camp Wapogasset for youth who have completed grades 4th to 9th grade, called Youth Camp.
Deep Dive Confirmation
Deep Dive Confirmation is a new opportunity this year, offering 7th-9th graders a special and engaging experience as they journey toward confirmation. It is one Sunday a month from 1:00-3:00 pm. Deep Dive is a collaboration of ELCA Lutheran congregations with the hope of connecting youth across congregations and engaging youth in field-trip immersion learning about the promises made to us by God in Baptism. Activities include Camp St. Croix Ropes Course, a special tour of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, a visit to the state capitol, a Native American sacred sites tour, and a summer service-learning trip. Regular attendance is expected by those who register.
Registration for Immanuel's Music and Arts Camp is open!
About a dozen Pilgrim children and youth attended this camp in 2019 and loved it. All Pilgrims who have completed Kindergarten-8th grade are invited again this year! It is a summer day camp where faith and creativity connect in a God-centered environment. Teachers are local artists! This year's camp is August 10-14, with the theme "Love Is..." Cost is $175 (and $125 for each additional child). Please register using this link: http://ilcsp.org/imac/
Registration for Sunday School and Pathways
Registration for Sunday School (kids entering PreK-Grade 5), Pathways (youth entering Grades 6-12), and Lambs (a class for children Birth-Age 3 and their parents/caregivers) is still available!
One family's experience of Pilgrim
Produced by Austin Adesso, through a Johnson Leadership and Creativity Fellowship, a program of Pilgrim. The film includes a hand-drawn image of PIlgrim church by Michael and Deborah Padgett.
Age 3 to Grade 5
Pilgrim offers Sunday School during the school year for kids in Preschool to Grade Five. Classes take place on Sunday mornings from 9:45am to 10:45am. We use the Spark! curriculum to teach children the stories from the Bible in a dynamic way and connect them to their lives. The children learn about the same Bible story they hear read in worship.
Pilgrim supports a wide-welcome to the Lord’s Table. Children may become full participants in the Eucharist when they are ready, at whatever age, with the support of caregivers and a pastor. We offer special spiritual growth opportunities for children in preschool, gradeschool, and middle school surrounding the sacrament of holy communion.
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a week of half-day programming offered in early summer for kids age 3 (and potty-trained) through (entering) Grade Five. Each year there is a new, fresh theme. Each day includes large-group opening and closing devotions, and a mix of art, music, snacks, games and storytelling, all led by a wide array of Pilgrim youth and adults.
